Reminder: Amy’s Kitchen Giveaway

This is a reminder about the giveaway from Amy’s Kitchen. There are just a few days left to enter!

Recently Amy’s Kitchen sent me three FREE product coupons to try some of their gluten free products. We don’t eat a lot of “easy meals”, simply because of the cost, but armed with free coupons, I grabbed three to try:

• Cheese Enchilada meal
• Tamale Pie
• Macaroni & Cheese

One thing we loved was the ease of preparation. For a family that cooks basically everything from scratch, throwing something in the microwave is a “once in a blue moon” treat! My husband ate all three of these at work, because they were “grab and go”, which makes it easy when you can get emergency calls at any moment. He started with the Cheese Enchilada meal. He reported that the cook times were slightly off, but that may have been due to the wattage of the microwave at work. He felt that it over-cooked on the outside edges, but wasn’t done in the middle. He wasn’t thrilled with the taste of that one, either (don’t forget, I have a food-finicky family).

Next came the Macaroni & Cheese.  No problems there.  Cooked up great, tasted great!

The Tamale Pie cooked just fine. My hubby is not a fan of veggies and beans, which these meals specialize in, but thought the flavorings and balance of the meals was good.

Overall, good job Amy’s, and thanks for the free products!
