I ran out this afternoon to do my shopping for the week. It’s really the only chance I ever get in a week to go anywhere by myself, and it’s kind of like a fun challenge to me to go shopping: My adventure for the week! Here’s what I got:
I ran into Darrenkamp’s (Family Owned Markets) for a few sale items. They were all store brands, so I didn’t use any coupons. Darrenkamp’s sometimes has great deals on their own Shur Fine brand, and it’s a minute from my house!
- Three dozen eggs at $1.28 each
- Two Parmesan Cheese 2/$5
- Two pounds of butter $1.98 each
Total Price: $12.80
Next, I ran to Weis and grabbed the following:
Two Coffee-Mate at $1.67 each
Used two $0.55/1 coupons from the 10/30 RP
Final Cost: $0.67 each
Four International Delight at $1.67 each
Used four $0.55/1 coupons found here
Final Cost: $0.67 each
No, we do not actually drink this much coffee, or use this much creamer! I am buying some of these for my mother-in-law.
Four Black Pearls Ripe Olives $1.50 each
Used two $1.50/2 coupons previously found here
Final Cost: $0.75 each
One thinThin Crunch Bar $1.29
Used the $1/1 coupon found here
Final Cost: $0.29
Two Heluva Good cheese 2/$5
Used two $0.50/1 coupons found here
Final Cost: $1.50 each
Total Price: $10.30
Finally, I hit up Rite-Aid for some cheap body wash. I LOVE Matterhorn Old Spice scent, so I got two of these for my hubby. They had bonus Fiji antiperspirants attached. We didn’t really NEED the body wash, but judging by the pathetic coupon values I’ve been seeing lately ($0.20/1 Old Spice in this week’s P&G???) I figured I’d better stock up while I had the high value coupons.
Two Old Spice Body Washes 2/$8
Used two $2/1 coupons from the 1/1 PG (expire 1/31!)
Got back a $2 +UP
Final Cost: $1 each
Total Spent Today: $7.84 at CVS, $2 at Rite-Aid, $10.30 at Weis, $12.80 at Darrenkamps = $32.94
And except for milk, that really should do it for this whole week, since we are pretty well stocked on all the necessities! Yippee, we’re under budget!
